August 2026 - New School Year Edition

Gavin Grenville-Wood
Founder and CEO, TigerTOTS Golf - PGA Fellow Coach
Hi there, and welcome to the new school year. Over the summer I have been watching the children who continued through our holiday programme, and the difference between those who kept moving and those who stopped is, as always, striking. The window between ages two and five does not wait for the term to start. It is open right now.
That is why bookings for Block 1 of the new season are now live across every one of our locations, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Every class is fully indoors, climate-controlled, and built for the way young children actually move and learn. Spots are limited, and these classes fill quickly once schools go back.
This week I also want to share my latest article on the developmental sequence behind everything we do at this age, because it explains exactly why we introduce skills in the order we do, and what happens when that sequence is rushed.

Why Book Now
Every class is fully indoors and air-conditioned, so the heat is never a reason to miss a session.
Block 1 starts the weekend of 29th-30th August, so your child begins the new school year already in motion.
Six weekly sessions build the rhythm and routine that young children need for skills to actually stick.
These first blocks fill fastest. Securing your place now means you choose your preferred location and time.
Latest from the Blog
I have spent thirty years watching what actually lands with young golfers and what does not. The single most important lesson is this: every skill has a right time to be introduced. Introduce it too early and you waste the moment. Introduce it too late and the child works harder than they needed to.
My new article sets out the developmental sequence I use and teach, built across thousands of young golfers. It is organised by developmental stage rather than strict age, and it explains exactly why exploration comes before grip, why putting comes before the full swing, and why rushing the sequence never actually saves time.
"Rushing the sequence never actually saves time. It borrows time from later, usually at a much higher interest rate, in the form of frustration, weaker foundations, and remedial work that would never have been necessary."
The article is the thirteenth in The GW Philosophy series, and it is the clearest explanation I have written of why the order in which we build skills matters more than the skill list itself.
